Planter heel spurs is an inflammation occurring in the feet. Planter is a connective tissue at the bottom of the foot. Using ice pack on the affected area for three times in a day will help a lot. Use of arch support when the patient has flat feet will reduce the intensity of pain. Doctors also recommend heel pads to get rid of the pain. The patient should try to loose the excess weight of the body; this will reduce the level of tension on the feet and ultimately lead to reduction in the pain.

In the sever case of pain the patient need to be very regular in the treatment. Some medicines are good to reduce the pain but they have their own side effects. Patient should avoid minor or major injuries and should be vigilant as any injury will create more problems. The lifestyle of patient will also affect the heel pain. Excessive running, walking or standing on the hard surface should be avoided. The shoes used by the patient should be very comfortable and of good quality.
