What is Achilles Pain?
Achilles pain is associated with heel pain in which there is an acute pain in the heel while you take every step. Achilles pain affects that muscle of the foot, which is known as Achilles tendon. The heel of the foot and the calve muscle are joined by the Achilles tendon. The symptoms in the Achilles pain are like one may feel pain in the heel while doing anything and that can be tolerated but once you stop doing your activity the pain the tendon shoots up to cause extreme pain and discomfort. In this type of heel pain there is in some instances a swelling on the tendon and the swelling has a fluid. One can also easily diagnose his/her heel pain by looking for any kind of wearing out of the soles along the heel part of the sole. With these simple ways one know if his pain in the heels is really the Achilles pain.
Why there is Achilles Pain?
Most of the people tend to overlook any pain that is there in the heel and this neglect is the major reason why one develops the Achilles pain. Overstressing the Achilles’ tendon and overstretching the muscle is also the main reason why the Achilles tendon gives up. The undue pressure and the strain on the muscle results in the tightening of the calf muscle and its accompanying pain. Any abrupt and sudden rise in activity or training can give you an Achilles pain. If you are Mountaineer and are very fond of climbing hills and mountains and running is also there then you can most probably have an Achilles pain. If you are doing things or any activity in a very fast manner then you are at risk of Achilles heel pain. If you are using shoes that look fashionable but have a very hard sole then there is a very restricted movement for your forefoot. Restricted movement for the forefoot puts extra strain and pressure on the Achilles tendon. A very comfortable heel cushioning can also be the reason for having an Achilles pain.
Treating Achilles pain
To have any relief from the Achilles pain one has to reduce one’s training schedule and adjust it reasonably. If you are doing speed running and hill running that also has to be cut back.
