The feet are that part of the body which are in constant contact with ground and which are always prone to any type of injury. Thus heel pain is that type of unhealthy condition of the feet which if neglected or not properly treated can cause serious problems for the individual and restrict his mobility. The right kind of physician’s advice and proper care of the feet can keep the individual moving. The heel pain commonly experienced also has common treatments. What one needs to keep in mind about heel pain is not to take it for granted.

Types of heel pain:

There are various kinds of heel pains, which the patient suffers from. The usual heel pain is the plantar fasciitis type of pain in which the patient suffers from pain, in fact this is the scientific name of the heel pain which is commonly known as the heel spur. In the heel spur type of heel pain the physician can actually locate the spur in the X-ray of the patient. This kind of heel pain is mainly due to non flexibility of the calf muscle of the patient. The poor support of the feet’s arch can be the cause of the heel spur kind of pain.

The major cause of the heel spur kind of pain is being overweight which puts excessive weight on the arch of the feet. The average activity that the individual does cannot harm the feet but a sudden rise in the patient’s daily routine can surely cause the heel spur pain. When anyone overuses his/her feet then there is heel spur.

Heel Bursitis is another type of heel pain. The sufferer of this kind of heel pain experiences pain at the back of the heel when the patient moves his joint of the ankle. In the heel bursitis type of heel pain there is swelling on the sides of the Achilles’ tendon. In this condition the sufferer may experience pain in the heel when his feet hit the ground. Heel bruises are also referred as heel bumps they are usually caused by improper shoes. The constant rubbing of the shoes against the heel.
