What exactly is Heel Pain?
Heel pain, as its name suggests is associated with the heels, but there is more to that. Indeed the pain in the heels can cause extreme discomfort and put you off the ground it is always necessary to keep a check on any kind of pain you might feel in the heels of your feet. The causes and treatment for the different types of heel pain vary with the different types of heel pain. The general cause for a heel pain is the excessive and over stress on the particular part of the feet, which creates a sore condition and pain, is experienced. The best and non-surgical treatment for the heel pain is stretching exercises.
Stretching Exercises
Anyone suffering from the tight heel cord or heel pain can perform the calf stretch kind of stretching exercise. Stretching the tight calf muscles of the feet can relieve heel pain. In this kind of stretching one has to stand away from the wall by maintaining a distance of about one ft. Then one has to put his palms at a height of his chest on the wall. Then stepping back without bending the knee, while doing these feet should be kept flat on the ground. In this type of stretching exercise the feet should be kept in the direction of the wall. Then the front foot should be bend in the knee. Having taken this position one has to push the wall with his already placed palms on the wall unless one experiences a stretch on the back leg.
Using towel and weights does another stretching exercise for heel pain. In this stretching exercise one has to use a towel by placing it on the ground one has to sit in a chair so that one is in the front of the towel. Then by using the toes of the feet one has to hold the towel without the heels being raised. The towel has to be pulled towards oneself and the heels should be kept on the towel firmly. The same exercise can be repeated with alternate foot so that the pain may get relieved. With this exercise one can also strengthen one’s feet.
