Heel pain in men


Heel pain is a common problem faced by both men and women. Heel pain can be cured by taking adequate rest. If any men despite of having heel problem continue with the regular routine then the problem can become more chronic. The heel bone is protected by fat. More burdens on the feet will shift the protective shield upward and a disturbance in the protective shield causes heel pain. Heel pain is less common among men as compared to men.

Causes of heel pain among men

Increase in age increases the possibility of heel pain among men. Men between the age group of forty to sixty are more prone to get affected by heel pain. The immune system is not designed to cope up with ageing process. The increase in age will cause feet pain as it causes tension on the feet. Poor footwear and hectic lifestyle and increased body weight causes heel pain. Heel pain is a painful feeling at the bottom of foot especially the heel and ball of the foot.  If men increases walking, standing and climb more stairs then usual then they can experience heel pain. If men wear uncomfortable or bad quality shoes then he can develop the problem of heel pain. Uncomfortable shoes can damage the sensitive tissues of the feet. Overweight among men can burden their feet a lot and cause feet pain. Runners are also prone to heel pain when they change their exercise pattern or opt for any other exercise.

Symptoms and treatment of heel pain

When men can experience pain while standing or walking. In some cases pain occurs while resting also. If men feel pain while sleeping that may be due to wrong posture. Taking adequate rest or intake of medicine prescribed by the doctor will help to cure the heel pain. Apply ice pack on feet for several times in a day. Physical therapies are also useful in curing heel pain. The medical therapies stretch and strengthen the muscles in lower leg and stabilize the heel of feet. Injections are used to cure more chronic cases. Surgery is rarely used to get rid of heel pain ailment.
